Shree Saha
PhD Candidate
Cornell University
I am a PhD candidate at Cornell University in the Department of Applied Management and Economics. My research focuses on the impact evaluation of policies on technology adoption and the transformation of food systems, with a particular emphasis on gender inclusiveness in agriculture and the role of political institutions. My work has been recognized and published in esteemed journals such as World Development, Journal of International Development, and Global Food Security, reflecting the rigorous and impactful nature of my research.
I have spearheaded several large-scale household surveys and managed significant research programs and grants. My ideas extend beyond traditional research; I was awarded the 'Most Market Ready Idea' at the Digital Agriculture Hackathon 2023 for developing 'TransportX,' a rideshare platform designed to transport fresh produce from rural areas to cities in India.
Prior to my PhD, I earned my MPhil and Master's in Economics from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), where I received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance. My work sits at the intersection of behavioral economics, causal methods, and machine learning, and I am passionate about developing innovative solutions to address global challenges.
