OUR HISTORY

Showbiz Kidz Dance Center began as a creative dance program with a 40 student enrollment in the Fall of 1996. Artistic Director Nancy Lihan started the studio with the purpose of providing training in both dance and theatrical performance. Classes began on the stage of the Stewartsville Elementary School, where the first Annual Show made its debut to over 700 people in May 1997. The town witnessed a full-blown production! Parents didn’t just see their children dancing, but acting and singing too! Interest in the unique new studio grew, and so did the need for more space. Showbiz Kidz relocated to a large hall in the Lutheran Church, where our dancers continued to flourish for the next 5 years. When the roster expanded to over 200 students, Nancy decided to move once more, this time to a place Showbiz Kidz could call its own! The large 3-studio space, located on Rte. 57 in Lopatcong, is fully-equipped to accommodate the extensive schedule of dance and acrobatic classes we are proud to offer today.

WHO WE ARE

The class schedule at Showbiz Kidz includes instruction in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Musical Theater and even Mommy & Me! Students that dance for recreation will be pleased with the friendly, nurturing, non-competitive approach of the instruction in our classes. We are also proud to be able to answer the needs of the more serious dancer that wishes to improve their skills to dance competitively at regional dance competitions. Showbiz Kidz has a very successful and long running Competitive Track – a total of 6 different aged/ability leveled teams that attend multiple classes in various disciplines each week. In addition to receiving High Gold, Platinum and Diamond Awards, they have won many prestigious special judges awards such as Most Entertaining, Superb Staging, Most Theatrical, Dare To Be Different, Highest Score and Best Choreography at competitions in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Our competition program helps our dancers grow both technically and on a personal/social level, developing not only necessary skills but also life long friendships.

OUR STUDIO

Our facility offers three studio rooms for instruction, each with a tinted viewing window so that parents can observe their children anytime they wish! A large spacious lobby and friendly front desk staff members welcome parents, and a studio lounge is available for those older students who have breaks between classes. We are equipped with tumbling mats and other apparatus to help with Acrobatic instruction.
