To improve and customize the software and services, we collect certain technical details about your device, including but not limited to: your operating system type, name, and version; device model; device configuration and identifiers; anonymous user identifiers; and software or service settings.
When you use the software and services, we automatically generate an anonymous internal user ID (which does not identify you personally). This ID is assigned to your usage of the software and services (“User ID”) and may be combined with the information mentioned above.

Watch records: Movies or shows you mark as Want to Watch, Watching, or Watched
Personal ratings: Your scores for movies or shows (0–10 scale)
Watch dates: Dates when you started and finished watching
Personal notes: Reviews or notes you write for movies or shows
Lists: Custom movie/show collections you create
Watch progress: For TV shows, your progress by season and episode
Search history: Keywords you searched for within the app
Usage data: Crash logs and performance data used to fix issues and optimize the user experience
To provide support and handle your feedback or complaints, if you contact us via email or our support page, we may collect your information such as your name, email address, and any other details you provide.
Important Note: Except in support situations, we do not intend to collect any personally identifiable information (PII). However, accidental collection of incomplete PII may occur. We periodically review and update our systems to identify and delete any unintentionally collected information.
Local-first storage:
All of your personal data (watch records, ratings, notes, lists, etc.) are stored entirely on your local device, encrypted using the Hive database.
We do not upload this data to any server.
Image caching:
Movie posters and stills are cached locally on your device. You can clear these caches in the app settings.
We may share information with third parties in the following cases:
When required by law.
When our team undergoes a merger, acquisition, control change, or other business transition.
With certain third-party companies (e.g., advertising platforms), provided that such third parties (i) ensure data security, (ii) do not use the data for any purpose other than providing services to us, and (iii) use the data only in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Apart from the above cases, we will not share your personal information with third parties without your prior consent.
When using our software and services, you may interact with third-party content (e.g., widgets, buttons, websites, ads). These are considered third-party content and services, governed by their own privacy policies.
We do not review, endorse, or guarantee such third-party content or services.
Before using or accessing them, we recommend reading their respective privacy policies.
You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for any liabilities arising from your use of third-party content or services.
We use the TMDB API to obtain basic movie and TV show data (titles, posters, summaries, ratings, etc.). When using the search and browse features, your requests are sent to TMDB’s servers but contain no personally identifiable information.

All movie and TV metadata (titles, summaries, posters, ratings, etc.) belong to TMDB.

We are committed to keeping your personal information secure. We use various technologies and procedures to help protect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including:
Local encryption: All data stored locally is encrypted using the Hive database
HTTPS communication: All connections with TMDB use HTTPS encryption
Principle of least privilege: The app only requests necessary system permissions
Access restrictions: We follow industry-standard safeguards and limit access to information stored on servers
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.
App uninstall: All locally stored data is immediately deleted upon uninstallation.
Clear data: You can manually delete your local data within the app.
If you are an EU/EEA user, you have the right (with limited exceptions) to:
(i) request access to, correction, or deletion of your personal data;
(ii) request restriction or object to processing; and
(iii) request a digital copy of your data for yourself or a third party.

Showbase may request the following permissions:
Network access – to fetch movie and TV data from TMDB API and download posters
We do not request:
Location access
Camera or microphone access
Contacts or call logs
SMS or call permissions
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), your personal information collected through the app may be transferred to recipients outside the EEA, where data protection standards may differ or be less stringent.
By using the app, you explicitly consent to the transfer of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under sixteen (16) years of age.
If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided information without consent, please contact us immediately. We will take steps to delete such information from our systems.
We highly value intellectual property protection. All content, including images, designs, graphics, text, logos, buttons, interfaces, icons, audio and video clips, and the selection and arrangement thereof, are the exclusive property of Showbase and protected under the Berne Convention, international copyright laws, and other applicable regulations.
You agree to use the software and services only for lawful purposes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the software and services without prior notice if we determine that your conduct violates any applicable laws, this Privacy Policy, or harms other users, third parties, sponsors, licensors, service providers, or merchants.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted within the app and will update the “Last Updated” date.
Significant changes will be prominently announced in the app.
