Jigsaw summer schools are hugely popular. Taking place during various weeks throughout the summer holidays, it is always a major highlight of the Jigsaw calendar and there have been some unforgettable summer school shows over the years.

I have a masters in International Business and have worked at senior management level in organisations, before I decided to follow my passion in the education sector with Kumon. With Kumon, we develop children with unlimited potential for learning. Kumon stands out from the rest because it gives children the opportunity to practise and master each fundamental level before moving on. To become a great footballer, musician or artist, daily practice is a necessity. The same is true of maths and English. The idea of completing work daily might seem daunting to those who only receive homework from school once a week. However, for those children studying Kumon, developing a good daily study routine and learning to practise regularly, the academic results speak for themselves.

Some of our clubs have limited spaces, so make sure you sign up early when the letters go out. Pupils need to show respect and follow the school rules when they attend a club otherwise they will not be able to attend.

"All pupils engage exceptionally well in their learning and show maturity beyond their years. Behaviour across the school is excellent; pupils show respect and are courteous to each other and to adults."

The children in KS1 had a real treat earlier this week. Mrs Samantha O'Connor, our Friday dance teacher, came into school and gave our younger children a lesson in African Drumming with a little bit of dance added in. The children absolutely loved it, and showed a real talent for it! See photos below.

Today the children in KS2 had an inspiring assembly given by Miss Lisa Bogle, a friend of the school. Miss Bogle is a former parent and Governor of Burleigh and an ex head teacher. Miss Bogle spoke about her different ambitions when she was growing up and about her education and work life. Miss Bogle's message to the children was to be Ambitious, Motivated, Innovative, to Persevere, to show Love & Respect and to have Patience - above all to 'Always believe in yourself' and to know that 'You are good enough.' be457b7860
