Jaida Thompson is media studies student in her senior year at Governors state university in University Park IL. Media has always been a big part of Thompson’s life, starting with a grandfather who loved to take pictures and document family time. Developing into more with social media becoming a phenomenon during her early teen years. Media followed her throughout high school, and as a cheerleader who had to speak to different media channels often to speak highly of her team. Now she has taken this interest into a hopeful career path in multimedia with the help of Governors state university.
Since her time at GSU, Thompson was able to expand her knowledge and get a hands-on experience by being a part of GSU TV. The school’s television program where you can find out about local stories, events happening around campus or national news. She hopes to continue to learn and grow in the media field and perform leadership skills in producing.
She has some experience both behind and In-front of the camera due to courses she completed at GSU and through her employment with GSU TV. In addition to that, Thompson produced 2 newscast shows for a class where she had to create the flow of the stories, Created a documentary and wrote scripts for dozens of shows for both GSU TV and look-live shows.
Thompson hopes that this will only be the beginning for her journey throughout media. There is always something more to learn or learn how to do more efficiently. She wants to continue to produce and create films that provides meaning and enjoyability.
