ShotGroupTracker is a local-first Android application for recording shooting sessions, target measurements, equipment information, and personal performance history.
This Privacy Policy explains how the current version of ShotGroupTracker handles information.
ShotGroupTracker stores its app records locally on the user's device.
Depending on how the app is used, local information may include:
Shooting sessions
Target photos
Aim points and shot-marker coordinates
Calibration and measurement data
Shooting distances
Group measurements
Firearm, loadout, cartridge, and ammunition records
User-entered reloading recipes and records
Notes
App preferences
Tutorial progress
Backup metadata
The developer does not automatically receive these locally stored records.
The current version of ShotGroupTracker:
Does not require user accounts
Does not use a developer-operated server or database
Does not provide cloud synchronization
Does not provide a remote backup service
Does not automatically upload target photos or session records
Does not use analytics
Does not display advertising
Does not use crash-reporting telemetry
Does not profile users
Does not collect location or contacts
Does not process payments
ShotGroupTracker requests camera access when the user chooses to capture a target photo.
Target photos are used locally for session records, calibration, measurement, aim-point placement, and manual shot marking.
ShotGroupTracker does not automatically upload these photos to the developer or a remote service.
When the user selects Save to Phone, ShotGroupTracker creates a session report locally and asks Android to save it to device media.
The saved report is then managed by the device and any applications or services the user chooses to use with it.
ShotGroupTracker can create local backup files when the user requests an export.
When importing a backup, the app uses Android's document picker so the user can deliberately select a file. ShotGroupTracker does not automatically search through or upload the user's documents.
Backup files may contain locally stored app information, including session records, equipment records, preferences, backup metadata, and available referenced target photos.
ShotGroupTracker does not operate a remote backup destination. The user chooses where exported files are stored or transferred.
Information can leave the device when the user deliberately:
Uses Share Session
Uses Save to Phone
Exports a backup
Selects an email, messaging, cloud-storage, file-storage, or other destination through Android
ShotGroupTracker prepares the requested content locally and passes it to Android or the destination selected by the user.
Third-party applications and services operate under their own privacy practices. Users should review session notes, photos, equipment information, and other content before sharing or exporting it.
Users control their local ShotGroupTracker records through the app and Android.
Clearing ShotGroupTracker's app data or uninstalling the app may permanently remove locally stored information that has not been backed up.
Users should maintain external copies of important backup files when preservation matters. Successful preservation or restoration cannot be guaranteed for every device, file, or third-party storage destination.
ShotGroupTracker is a specialized shooting-sports recordkeeping utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
The app does not require an account or knowingly transmit locally stored app records to the developer.
Firearm use must always comply with applicable laws, range rules, supervision requirements, and responsible-use practices.
ShotGroupTracker is a recordkeeping, measurement, and performance-reference utility. It does not replace firearm-safety training, qualified instruction, manufacturer guidance, range rules, applicable laws, or the user's responsibility for safe and lawful conduct.
Measurements and calculations provided by ShotGroupTracker depend on user inputs, image quality, calibration, marker placement, shooting distance, and other factors. They should not be treated as independently certified measurements.
Reloading information stored in ShotGroupTracker is user-entered recordkeeping. ShotGroupTracker does not provide or verify load data, pressure calculations, charge recommendations, component compatibility, safety thresholds, or safe-load instructions.
Third-party firearm, ammunition, optic, accessory, component, and other product or brand names may appear in ShotGroupTracker for identification, compatibility, reference, and user recordkeeping purposes.
ShotGroupTracker is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by any firearm, ammunition, optic, accessory, component, or other third-party manufacturer unless explicitly stated otherwise.
All trademarks and brand names remain the property of their respective owners.
Updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted through the app and the public policy page.
If a future version introduces accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, remote storage, or other services that change how information is handled, this Privacy Policy and applicable store disclosures will be updated accordingly.
