What is Shop Cycle?
It’s a free event where people can find new homes for unwanted items (like clothes, books, shoes, toys, housewares) or take items they can use. You don’t need to bring something to take something!
Why do we host a Shopy Cycle event?
Shop Cycle is one way we pursue our desire to reduce waste and promote reuse. By participating in community swaps, we can come together to reduce the contribution to landfills and prevent the waste that comes from the production, packaging, and transportation required to get new things.
How does a Shop Cycle event work?
Simply take your acceptable items you want to swap at the drop-off area during our drop-off times to have them sorted and displayed. Then you may shop around for free! Items on display are free on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be some shopping bags available, but it’s highly recommended to bring your own bags.
You don't need to bring something to take something, but it’s encouraged for a successful event. Please bring clean, usable items that you no longer need or want. Do not bring large items that can't be carried away easily. Missing pieces are OK only if it doesn't affect the working condition of the item. There is no limit. The more items that are not thrown away in landfills, the better!
If you can’t make it to our event and would like to donate items, please contact us to make arrangements in the local Wappingers Falls area only.
Any items left over at the end of the event will be recycled or donated responsibly as much as possible. Here is a list of some of the companies we donate to:
