Hi I'm Mike! I'm a teacher whose current position is under the title of Industrial Technology teacher, but generally I just explain what I do as a being a shop teacher. I teach courses that cover the realms of manufacturing, engineering, CAD, design, or robotics.
On any given day I teach students simple things like how to read a ruler all the way to more complex skills like programming a 6 axis robotic arm welder.
I've been teaching in public schools in the United States for over a decade. Looking to get better at my chosen profession I decided to start this website to force myself to explore new ideas, projects, curriculum, and ways to grow the program at my school.
I routinely see what other shop teachers are doing in their classes. The creativity, energy, and awesomeness that they showcase makes me feel like I need to seriously up my game. I'm here to learn, share, and get better at teaching.
If you consider yourself a shop teacher or fall under the umbrella of teaching engineering, manufacturing, machining, welding, robotics, woodworking, or any other hands on/trades based curriculum I would love to connect with you.
