I discovered sublimation printing on the internet and found it extremely interesting! What I have to do is print on clock faces, I would like some information about this technique, to know what the total cost for the equipment is. Mauro, New York
The sublimation technique produces results of remarkable quality, but the sublimation ink adheres only to polyester substrates, or to substrates specially treated with a thin layer of polyester.
In his specific case, watch faces, some difficulties need to be overcome:
1- treat the dial with polyester spray
2- since it is a transfer, it is necessary to position the paper containing the decoration over the dial with extreme precision, and make it adhere perfectly to it. To obtain adherence, there are 3D ovens with a vacuum membrane. In my opinion, a lot of manual skill is needed for positioning.

If the procedure is feasible, you need to:
1- a good printer with sublimation cartridges
2- a 3D vacuum-sealed oven
3- little and cheap consumable material
If you let us have some quadrant samples (preferably prepared for the sublimation) we can do some tests in our test laboratory.
However, I believe that, with a much greater investment, the suitable solution consists in a direct digital printer for objects, at the cost of a few thousand dollars
