Shop Stopper - Pause Before You Pay
Effective Date: July 13, 2026
Welcome to Shop Stopper. Your privacy and digital wellbeing are our top priorities. We built this app to give you a moment to breathe and decide with a clear head, not to collect your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and the permissions required for the app to function.
FREE. NO ADS. NO TRACKING FOR PROFIT.
Shop Stopper is a wellbeing tool. We do not show ads, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not monitor your browsing history to build marketing profiles. Shopping apps are stressful enough—we will not add more noise or sell your attention.
To provide its core features, Shop Stopper requests specific Android permissions. We use these strictly to operate the app locally on your device.
Shop Stopper requires the Accessibility Service permission to detect when you are on a checkout screen in supported shopping apps (like Amazon, Trendyol, Hepsiburada).
What we access: The app reads specific UI elements (like a "Checkout" button label) to know when to trigger the mindful pause intervention.
What we DO NOT access: We never use this permission to read, collect, or store your passwords, credit card numbers, payment details, or personal messages. Shop Stopper does not block payments or modify your shopping carts.
We use this permission solely to display the calming mini-game and intervention screen ("Park the cart or continue?") over your shopping app when a checkout is detected.
If you choose to enable it, we use Usage Access to calculate the time you spend in shopping apps (daily, weekly, monthly stats). This data is processed locally on your device to show you your screen time and streaks. It is not transmitted to our servers for profiling.
When you choose to "park" an item for 48 hours, the details of your paused purchases and your calculated "savings" are stored locally on your device so you can track your progress.
To improve app stability, we may use standard crash reporting tools (such as Firebase Crashlytics) to collect anonymous error logs (e.g., device model, operating system version, and the line of code that caused a crash) if the app closes unexpectedly. This is used strictly for technical maintenance.
Shop Stopper is completely free to use. However, we offer an optional, voluntary in-app purchase (a tip) to support development. If you choose to tip, the transaction is processed securely through the Google Play Billing system. We do not have access to your credit card information or billing address.
We take the security of your data seriously. Because most of Shop Stopper's core functionality happens locally on your device, the risk of data exposure is minimal.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties.
We do not share your shopping habits with advertisers.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy or via an in-app notice.
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy or how Shop Stopper operates, please contact us. We are here to help you regain control over impulse buying.
