AI-Enabled Soil Intelligence for Crop Health and Disease Prediction

Sponsored by Technology Innovation Hub, IIT BOMBAY, INDIA

Overview

This project focuses on developing a data-driven decision support framework for soil-borne disease prediction and crop planning. The objective is to integrate multi-dimensional field data — including soil physicochemical parameters, environmental conditions, and crop-level observations — into a structured analytical pipeline that supports sustainable agricultural decision-making.

The initiative is currently progressing toward technology incubation under the proposed startup Krishindria, with the goal of translating research outcomes into scalable farmer-centric solutions.

Research Vision

Modern agriculture requires precision-level insights at the intersection of:

Soil health
Crop-specific risk patterns
Environmental variability
Sustainable management practices

The project aims to establish a scientifically validated framework capable of:

Identifying soil disease risk signals
Supporting crop rotation planning
Enhancing regenerative soil strategies
Improving yield stability under variable climatic conditions
