Lately, I’ve had a few really great conversations with past clients about branding, posting on social media, authenticity, and showing up online in a way that actually feels aligned.
And honestly? The takeaways from those conversations have been so interesting to me.
First, it reminded me how much I genuinely enjoy working. Not the hustle-for-the-sake-of-hustle kind of working, but meaningful conversations, creative thinking, helping people clarify who they are and how they want to present themselves to the world.
Second, reconnecting with past clients has been such a gift. There’s something really special about picking up where you left off with people you’ve worked with before. The familiarity, the trust, the shared history. It feels less transactional and more relational now, and I love that.
Third, I noticed something important after every conversation: I felt lit up.
Energized.
Inspired.
Creative again.
Not drained. Not overwhelmed. Not counting down until the weekend.
Just excited.
And maybe that’s the biggest lesson in all of this. Sometimes the things that energize us are clues. Clues about what we’re meant to keep doing, even if it looks different than it once did.
Which brings me to my fourth takeaway: Semi-retirement is definitely where it’s at.
There’s a freedom that comes with creating work around your life instead of building your life around work. Doing projects because you want to, not because you have to. Having the space to say yes to what lights you up and no to what doesn’t.
I think for a long time many of us believed success had to mean full speed ahead at all times. But maybe success can also look like balance. Flexibility. Purposeful work. Slower mornings. Meaningful conversations. Creativity without pressure.
Maybe it can look like this season.
And if these recent conversations have reminded me of anything, it’s that authenticity matters now more than ever. People are craving realness. They want connection, honesty, personality, and stories. Not perfection.
Ironically, the more authentic we become, the more magnetic we are.
Funny how that works.
