Since 2019, I have proudly served as a volunteer with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, providing emergency medical treatment to over 500 patients during natural disasters, health crises, and community emergencies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I registered 280 underprivileged individuals for vaccination through the UNICEF partnership program, demonstrating my dedication to public health and community service. This humanitarian service continues to inform my academic research in disaster risk reduction and climate-adaptive planning, ensuring my work remains grounded in real-world community needs and human dignity.
At both Texas Tech University and Jahangirnagar University, I have been actively involved in geospatial initiatives, including participating in mapathons and contributing to platforms like Google Earth and OpenStreetMap. These experiences have honed my technical skills in remote sensing, digital cartography, and crowdsourced GIS, enabling me to create accurate, data-driven spatial representations. My work has consistently aligned with a strong mission to support humanitarian efforts and serve vulnerable communities through informed mapping. Additionally, I have developed strong collaborative skills by engaging in team-based mapping projects that emphasize coordination, problem-solving, and shared geospatial goals.
I worked as a Skill Development Executive where I organized and conducted workshops and training sessions on R Studio and GIS software. Through this role, I helped over 100 students build valuable technical skills. It also enhanced my own abilities in project management, mentorship, and team coordination by leading group activities, managing schedules, and supporting learners throughout their development journey.
I actively participated in the university's debate club, where I developed critical thinking, public speaking, and analytical reasoning skills through competitive academic debates. I competed in numerous inter-university debate tournaments and campus competitions, which strengthened my ability to research complex topics thoroughly, construct evidence-based arguments, and articulate positions clearly under pressure. The rigorous preparation I undertook for debates on topics ranging from urban policy and environmental governance to social justice issues directly enhanced my research methodology skills and ability to analyze multifaceted problems from multiple perspectives.
I've had the wonderful opportunity to bring people together through organizing vibrant departmental events at Jahangirnagar University, creating memorable experiences that celebrate our diverse campus culture. From colorful cultural festivals to inspiring academic seminars, I've enjoyed every aspect of event planning - whether it's collaborating with talented teams, connecting with enthusiastic participants, or watching ideas come to life. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to blend creativity with organization while fostering meaningful connections across different departments. Through each event, I've discovered my passion for creating spaces where learning, culture, and community naturally flourish together.
