Sunday Morning Worship via Zoom
Shiloh offers the opportunity to attend and participate Sunday morning worship via Zoom. This is free to the participant.
This gives us the ability to provide people the chance to interact and participate in the worship service remotely with the congregation in the sanctuary.
We have had participants join us from several states outside of Kentucky, from their homes, from their cars, and occasionally from their boats.
We also rely on Zoom to worship together when severe weather makes it hazardous to travel.

Sunday Bible Study
Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:30 am, there is an in-depth Bible Study of the Scriptures that will be part of the worship service. This is held in Fellowship Hall, where coffee, discussion, and learning abounds.
Next Door Neighbor
Next Door Neighbor is a ministry for infants and children, and for parents and grandparents who need to diaper them. Besides diapers from newborn to size seven and pull-ups, the ministry provides clothes and other baby needs like thermometers, rash cream, lotion, body wash, shampoo and de-tangler and, of course, the all important wipes. Sometimes we have food, formula and devices like car seats, and pack and plays. And we’ll always lift you up in love. Our goal is to help struggling families meet the needs of their growing children as conveniently as possible. We are open the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We are currently serving Oldham, Trimble, and Henry Counties
Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
Wednesday Time of Prayer
On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays we have a time for a devotion, Scripture and prayer. This time is via Zoom, starting at 7:00 pm. All are welcome.
Red Cross Blood Drives
Shiloh hosts quarterly Red Cross Blood Drives. When you give blood here, we feed you with soups, sandwiches, cookies, and beverages served by friendly faces.
The next blood drive is scheduled for Monday, May 11th, 1:00 to 6:00 pm.
Susanna Wesley Circle
The Susanna Wesley Circle is a sorority of like-minded women at Shiloh, whose goals include serving the congregation and supporting missions. The group is open to all women who attend Shiloh UMC. We meet once a month, usually on the first Thursday of the month to conduct business, collect offerings and socialize. Most pot-luck meals and special fellowship events are organized by this group. Our giving helps support the Ky United Methodist Children’s Homes, Cru (Crusade for Christ), missionaries, World Gospel Mission, WaterStep, Next Door Neighbor, and some of the upkeep and improvements on Church Property.
Annually, we host a Chili Supper and Auction fund raiser in November and a Ladies’ luncheon in the Spring.
Our past projects have included upgrading flooring in both Fellowship Hall and the hallways and classrooms of the Education Building. We recently furnished the kitchen with new sink, refrigerator, cabinets and countertops. As well as a much-needed mop sink. The tables and chairs in our Fellowship Hall were also bought with funds from previous Chili Suppers.
Meeting dates and locations are posted each month on the church Newsletter.
We support one another with prayer, a card ministry, and connecting. We also reach out to the Beehive Community with gifts at Christmas and Easter. We gladly welcome new members to this group.
Wellness Team
Shiloh church began a wellness program twelve years ago as a part of the Norton Office of Church and Health Ministries. Our wellness team consists of volunteers, some of whom have had careers in the healthcare field. Our goal is to promote good health in the congregation and surrounding community by introducing programs on health topics and providing assistance with health needs where appropriate.
Over the years we have had activities such as 5k walks, congregational “walks to Jerusalem and Bethlehem”, provided assistance for homebound members whose families needed a break, and family game nights where devices are forbidden.
Program topics have included Parkinson’s disease, Brain Health, CPR training, How to Declutter and many others. For the past 3 years we have hosted American Red Cross blood drives and have established a loyal base of donors.
It is our hope that these various programs have made a difference in our part of the world. Watch for new programs and opportunities.
Operation Christmas Child
Since 1993 Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoe-box gifts filled with school supplies, toys and hygiene items for children around the world, many of whom have never received a gift nor heard of Jesus. They bring joy and also a tangible expression of God’s love.
In 2024, 11,927,439 shoebox gifts were packed by people from 11 countries. 305,000+ teachers were trained to teach The Greatest Journey (a follow-up discipleship course) in 97 countries and 99 languages. 5.5 million children participated, and 3.2 million decisions were made for Christ! These boys and girls learn how to follow Jesus and share Him with others.
To learn more, go to Samaritanspurse.org. on What We Do, then Operation Christmas Child.
In the near future materials will arrive for you here at Shiloh. We hope you will join in this important and fun-filled project. It will bring you joy!
Please return your boxes by November 17 so we can deliver them to the collection site.
Eliza Brooks
Eliza Brooks was born into slavery in the 19th century, and her courageous story of resilience continues to inspire people today. At the age of 50, Eliza made the incredibly brave decision to escape slavery with her two small children and a friend. They bravely crossed the Ohio River, a symbolic boundary between slave states and free states, relying on their determination and the cover of darkness to evade slave catchers.
