Hello! Thank you for visiting my website.

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Studies in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (DSSTIP) in the School of Social Sciences of Central University of Gujarat (CUG), Gandhinagar.

I was a visiting faculty at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Cornell University (Ithaca, New York) on a Fulbright Fellowship (2022-23).

After receiving my basic training in life sciences, I shifted to social sciences and completed MPhil and PhD (in Science, Technology and Society Studies) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Before joining Central University of Gujarat, I worked as a Research Fellow at Maulana Azad Chair of the National University for Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), New Delhi (2009–10).

I work on issues related to science and democracy by employing concepts and tools from History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science. My current research interests include public engagement with science and technology, media and science communication, social movements, social history of knowledge, and cultural studies of science and technology. I am a bilingual scholar who writes in both English and Malayalam (my first language) on these themes.

I  teach Science and Technology Studies (STS), Social History of S&T,  Science Communication Studies,  and Philosophy of Social Sciences  in the PhD Programme offered by the Centre.  I also teach in the MA Social Work programme in School of Social Sciences, CUG.
