Monitoring shifting cultivation in Laos with Landsat time series
Monitoring shifting cultivation in Laos with Landsat time series
Description: We created the first national scale 30m shifting cultivation map in Laos and tracked carbon emissions from shifting cultivation. To create the annual shifting cultivation maps, we combined CCDC-SMA(Continuous Change Detection and Classification - Spectral Mixture Analysis, tropic version) and object-based analysis. We found that shifting cultivation activities and the associated carbon emissions increased recently in Laos.
