Shijuan Chen

About me

I am an environmental data scientist with an expertise in land change monitoring using remote sensing and geospatial technology. Currently, I am a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. I earned my PhD in Earth and Environment at Boston University. My research interests include:

• Remote sensing

• Geospatial science

• Land cover and land use change

• Deforestation and forest degradation

• Carbon cycle

• Urbanization

• Time series analysis 

I have taken a lead role in multiple research projects funded by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and USGS (United States Geological Survey).
