HelloLearn is designed for parents, guardians, educators, and other adults to use while teaching a learner. Its educational content may be shown to children, but privacy acceptance, language selection, profile management, advertising choices, and device administration are intended for an adult.

Privacy at a glance

• No account is required.

• Optional learner details, progress, and settings remain in the App’s private on-device storage.

• This locally stored learning information is not supplied to advertisers.

• The App may display limited, non-personalized advertising configured for child-directed treatment and general-audience content.

• Google may process device, network, consent, advertising interaction, fraud-prevention, and diagnostic information when advertising services operate.

• Spoken lessons use the text-to-speech service selected on the device, which may operate under its own privacy terms.

1. Who we are and scope

Shihab Uddin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the HelloLearn mobile application (“HelloLearn” or the “App”).

This policy applies to Android and iOS versions of HelloLearn. It is intended to serve as the single privacy policy for both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

This policy explains:

• Information handled by the App

• Information that may be processed by service providers

• Why information is processed

• How information is retained or deleted

• Choices available to the adult responsible for the device

Operating-system providers, app stores, advertising providers, and independently selected text-to-speech providers may also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

2. Local learning information

HelloLearn works without an account. The App may store the following information locally so that learning can continue between sessions.

Learner profile

An adult may optionally provide a learner nickname, age or age range, and avatar choice. This information is used to personalize greetings and learning settings and is stored in the App’s private storage on the device.

Adults should use a nickname instead of a learner’s full legal name.

Language and preferences

The selected learning language and App preferences are stored on the device so that HelloLearn can display the correct content and remember the user’s settings.

Learning activity and progress

The App stores lesson progress, learned items, tracing activity, pronunciation activity counts, game results, stars, and related learning history on the device. This information is used to resume lessons and display progress.

Text-to-speech information

When spoken audio is requested, the relevant lesson text and selected language are passed to the text-to-speech service installed or selected on the device.

HelloLearn does not create or retain a recording of the learner’s voice.

Privacy and advertising choices

The App stores the accepted privacy-policy version locally. Google’s consent platform may separately store or communicate advertising consent signals as explained below.

We do not upload learner nicknames, ages, avatars, lesson history, tracing activity, pronunciation activity, game answers, stars, or selected learning languages to our servers.

We do not provide this local learning information to Google for advertising.

3. Advertising and consent

The Android version of HelloLearn may display an anchored banner advertisement on limited overview screens.

An iOS version may use the same policy when the same advertising services are enabled.

Advertising is provided through Google Mobile Ads. HelloLearn uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) to request or manage advertising choices where required by applicable law.

UMP is requested only after an adult accepts the HelloLearn privacy policy and completes the language-selection process.

If UMP does not permit an advertising request, HelloLearn remains usable without advertisements.

Advertising requests are configured for:

• Child-directed or age-restricted treatment

• Non-personalized publisher treatment

• General-audience advertising content

These settings are intended to limit advertising and personalization. Google independently determines and operates the advertisements it serves.

4. Information Google may process

When Google UMP or Google Mobile Ads operates, Google may automatically process information such as:

• IP address and general network information

• Device type, operating system, and App information

• Advertising or App-instance identifiers where made available by the platform

• Consent choices and privacy signals

• Approximate location inferred from an IP address

• Advertising requests and impressions

• Advertising interactions

• Advertising frequency information

• Crash and performance information

• Fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, security, and diagnostic information

Google may use this information to:

• Obtain and honor consent choices

• Select and deliver limited or contextual advertisements

• Limit advertising frequency

• Measure advertising delivery and performance

• Prevent fraud and invalid traffic

• Maintain security

• Comply with legal obligations

• Provide aggregate reporting

HelloLearn does not use learner profiles, learning progress, game answers, or selected learning languages to select advertisements.

The availability and wording of Google’s consent controls may vary by region and configuration.

5. Information we do not collect

HelloLearn does not require or operate an online user account.

The App does not ask for:

• An email address

• A phone number

• A full legal name

• An exact birth date

• Payment information

• Contacts

• Photos or videos

• Camera data

• Microphone recordings

• Precise location

HelloLearn does not include:

• A first-party analytics system

• Social networking features

• Third-party account sign-in

• A data-broker integration

Google’s advertising and consent processing is separate from the locally stored learner information. We do not receive a copy of the learner profile through the advertising SDK.

6. Permissions and internet access

The Android App does not request access to:

• Camera

• Microphone

• Contacts

• Precise location

• Photo library

• Payment information

Internet access may be used for:

• Advertising

• Advertising consent

• Opening the hosted privacy policy

• Online functions of the text-to-speech service selected by the device owner

Core learning content and locally saved progress work without an account.

The operating system and app store may independently process download, purchase, diagnostic, security, and device information under their respective privacy policies.

7. Device text-to-speech

HelloLearn uses the text-to-speech service installed or selected on the device to read learning content aloud.

The App sends lesson text and the selected language to that service only when spoken audio is requested.

Depending on the selected voice or provider, the operating-system provider or text-to-speech provider may require an internet connection and may process the requested text under its own privacy policy.

HelloLearn does not record the learner’s voice and does not send microphone audio to a cloud speech-recognition service.

8. Purposes and legal bases

Locally stored information is processed to:

• Provide the learning features requested by the user

• Personalize the learning experience

• Preserve settings and progress

• Display learning history

• Maintain App security

• Remember an adult’s choices

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, local processing is necessary to provide requested App features or is based on our legitimate interest in operating a safe and functional learning tool.

Advertising and consent processing occurs only after the App’s privacy policy is accepted and subject to Google UMP’s regional consent state.

Depending on the user’s location, Google and we may rely on consent, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, or another legal basis described in Google’s notices.

An adult can revisit available advertising privacy choices from Settings when Google UMP requires that option.

9. Service providers, sharing, and sale

Google acts as an advertising and consent service provider for the processing described in this policy.

The device’s selected text-to-speech provider processes lesson text when spoken audio is requested.

Operating-system providers and app stores may independently process information for distribution, billing, security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.

We do not sell or rent:

• Learner profiles

• Learning progress

• Game answers

• Tracing activity

• Speech activity

• Selected learning languages

We do not disclose locally stored learning information to advertisers or data brokers.

Our service providers are expected to handle information according to their contractual obligations, applicable law, and their published privacy policies.

We may disclose information if legally required, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.

10. Retention and deletion

Local learning information remains on the device until an adult:

• Resets learning progress

• Clears the App’s storage

• Uninstalls the App

Resetting progress removes learned-item records, tracing counts, stars, and game history while retaining the local learner profile and preferences.

Clearing App storage or uninstalling HelloLearn removes all locally stored App information.

We do not maintain a server-side learner account requiring deletion.

Google retains advertising, consent, security, fraud-prevention, and diagnostic information according to its policies, configured retention controls, and legal obligations.

Requests concerning information controlled by Google should be submitted through Google’s privacy tools or contact channels.

11. Children’s privacy and adult supervision

HelloLearn’s educational content may be shown to children, but an adult should manage:

• Initial setup

• Privacy-policy acceptance

• Language selection

• Learner profile information

• Advertising choices

• Device administration

Adults should not enter a learner’s full legal name, exact birth date, contact information, or other identifying details.

Advertising requests are configured for child-directed treatment, publisher-disabled personalization, and general-audience advertising content.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account or our own server.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us outside the App, contact us so that we can review and respond appropriately.

12. International processing

Local learning information remains on the device.

Google and other platform providers may process advertising, consent, security, and diagnostic information in countries outside the user’s country of residence.

These countries may have different data-protection laws. The relevant providers’ privacy policies describe their international processing and transfer safeguards.

13. Security

HelloLearn relies on the mobile operating system’s private App storage and device security controls to protect locally stored information.

Advertising and consent communications use provider SDKs and network security mechanisms.

Adults should use an appropriate device lock and keep the operating system and App updated.

No electronic storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

14. Choices and privacy rights

An adult may:

• Decline the HelloLearn privacy policy and exit the App

• Omit optional learner information

• Change the App language

• Turn sound or motion settings on or off

• Reset learning progress

• Clear the App’s storage

• Uninstall the App

• Review advertising privacy choices when Google UMP makes that option available

Changing an advertising choice may affect future advertising requests. It may not remove information already processed where retention is legally permitted.

Privacy rights vary by location and may include:

• Access

• Correction

• Deletion

• Restriction

• Objection

• Portability

• Withdrawal of consent

• The right to complain to a data-protection regulator

Because we do not receive the locally stored learner information, actions concerning that information must be performed on the device.

Contact us about information you believe you sent directly to us. Use Google’s privacy tools for information controlled by Google.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when HelloLearn’s features, service providers, laws, or data practices change.

When the policy changes, we will revise its effective date and version.

If a change materially affects information handling, the App may require an adult to review and accept the updated policy before advertising or normal use continues.
