Privacy Policy for ShiftPOP
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Who we are
ShiftPOP (“ShiftPOP”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) is a personal shift calendar for iPhone, operated by John Halley. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app stores, what leaves your device, and how to contact us.
The iOS app may appear as ShiftPop or, on an existing App Store listing, as Nursie.
What ShiftPOP is
ShiftPOP helps you plan Day, Evening, Night, Off, Vacation, and custom shifts, estimate pay, set reminders, and add Home Screen widgets.
ShiftPOP is a shift planner. It is not medical, mental health, or crisis care, and it is not intended for storing other people’s personal details.
Information you add to the app
You may choose to enter information such as:
Shift dates, times, types, titles, colours, and notes
Repeating shift patterns
Pay settings, such as an hourly rate, overtime multiplier, and logged overtime hours
Themes, appearance, reminder, and other app preferences
Please do not enter names, phone numbers, addresses, patient details, or other identifying information about other people. Custom shift titles can appear on widgets, so keep them free of confidential information.
Information stored on your device
Your shifts, notes, pay settings, themes, notification preferences, and other app settings are stored in the app database on your iPhone.
If iCloud Sync is available and turned on, that private database can sync through your own iCloud account so you can use it on your Apple devices. Apple processes that data under Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot read your private iCloud rota.
ShiftPOP also uses an on-device App Group so Home Screen widgets can show upcoming shift names and times. That widget data stays on your device.
Notifications
ShiftPOP can schedule local notifications on your device to remind you before upcoming shifts. Permission is optional. Notification content is generated on your iPhone and is not sent to our servers. You can turn reminders off in ShiftPOP or in iOS Settings.
Widgets
If you add a ShiftPOP widget, it can show upcoming shift names and times on your Home Screen. Personal notes are not shown on widgets.
Purchases
If you buy ShiftPOP Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. ShiftPOP uses RevenueCat to confirm Pro access on this device and to restore it later. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription information according to their own privacy policies. Subscription terms are shown by Apple before you buy, and ShiftPOP uses Apple’s standard Terms of Use (EULA).
Feedback
If you send feedback from Settings, we receive the message you write, plus basic details that help us investigate: app version and build, device model, iOS version, locale, time zone, feedback category and area, optional satisfaction rating, Pro-access status, and a random feedback-device identifier created on your iPhone.
Feedback is delivered to a private Google Sheet using Google Apps Script. Please do not include other people’s names or other identifying details.
You can also email us directly using the contact address below. Anything you include in that email is used only to respond and to improve ShiftPOP.
Analytics and tracking
This version of ShiftPOP does not use analytics or crash-reporting services. We do not collect advertising identifiers, and ShiftPOP does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Website
If this Privacy Policy is hosted on a website, that site may be a simple page for this policy. Your browser and hosting provider may still create ordinary server or security logs, such as IP address and the page requested, as part of delivering the page.
How we use information
We use information to:
Provide the calendar, reminders, pay estimates, and widgets
Sync your private rota through your iCloud account when iCloud Sync is on
Unlock and restore Pro
Respond to feedback or privacy requests you choose to send
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your rota, notes, or pay settings for advertising.
Third-party services
Depending on how you use ShiftPOP, these services may process information:
Apple iCloud, for optional sync across your Apple devices
Apple App Store, for purchases, subscriptions, and restore
RevenueCat, to confirm and restore Pro access
Google Apps Script and Google Sheets, for feedback you choose to submit
Those services process information according to their own privacy policies, including Apple, RevenueCat, and Google.
Retention
Personal rota data stored only on your device remains there until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the app. If that data was synced to iCloud, it remains in your iCloud account until you delete it there or through Apple’s iCloud tools.
Feedback and support emails are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, fix issues, and keep a record of the request. Purchase records needed to restore Pro are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own policies.
Deletion
You can delete shifts and settings from inside the app. Removing the app from your device also removes the local database, unless it was synced to your iCloud account.
Deleting the app does not cancel an active ShiftPOP Pro subscription. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings.
To ask for help with data removal, email johnhalley1994@gmail.com with the subject “ShiftPOP data deletion request”. Please do not send rota notes, patient details, or other confidential information in that email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. ShiftPOP stores most of your rota on your device or in your iCloud account, so the fastest way to delete that information is usually from the app, by removing the app, or through your Apple ID / iCloud settings.
To make a privacy request about information we hold, such as feedback you sent us, contact johnhalley1994@gmail.com.
Children’s privacy
ShiftPOP is intended for adults who plan work shifts. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International processing
If you use Apple, RevenueCat, or send feedback, those providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Their safeguards and privacy terms apply to that processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
