My name is Savannah Denning. I am currently the elementary curriculum coordinator for a PreK-6 school in Warren County. My passion is curriculum and instruction and we might work toward bridging the gap between education research and practice. I believe that schools need to be reimagined to better meet the needs of students. I believe that we must shift the way we think about teaching and learning in order to transform schools. We have access to a wealth of empirical research to help us improve students' educational experience, but we do a poor job utilizing it.
I have experience in grades 1, 2, and 4. I have an elementary math specialist certification, principalship certification, and a doctorate in P-12 Administration. I love hosting visitors in my school and sharing my professional journey through presentations and workshops. I consistently question what practitioners collectively consider "researched-based" strategies, and I think we can do a better job bringing together the practitioner world with the academic world. I am continuing to learn from the incredible scholars and educators I meet and work with--I'm still on the journey toward truly personalized learning, myself!
