1. INTRODUCTION
ShiftSpan ("we," "our," or "us") provides a premium work shift calendar and salary management application. We are committed to protecting your personal data and your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the ShiftSpan mobile application.
2. 100% OFFLINE DATA SOVEREIGNTY (LOCAL STORAGE)
Unlike standard shift tracking apps, ShiftSpan is designed with complete offline data sovereignty:
- All shift logs, hours worked, hourly wages, custom overtime metrics, payment records, notes, and local currency settings are stored 100% LOCALLY on your mobile device.
- We do not host, operate, or maintain any external databases or remote servers that collect your personal records.
- Your data remains within your device's secure sandboxed database (using SQLite/SQFlite).
- Uninstalling the application or clearing its cache will permanently erase your local logs. We do not keep back-ups.
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
To provide system utilities, push notifications, and advertising, ShiftSpan integrates third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs). These third-party providers may collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable information under their own privacy frameworks:
A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)
- Purpose: Used to serve relevant in-app advertisements and monetize the free tier of the application.
- Data Collected: AdMob may use device identifiers, advertising IDs (such as Android ADID), and IP addresses to serve contextual advertisements.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized ads via your device's Android Google Settings ("Delete advertising ID").
B. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- Purpose: Used to deliver remote push notifications, shift reminders, and system alerts.
- Data Collected: Uses anonymous FCM registration tokens solely to authenticate and trigger notifications. No physical addresses, emails, or names are processed.
4. DEVICE PERMISSIONS
To deliver a fully functional utility experience, ShiftSpan requires the following system permissions:
- Push Notifications: Required solely to trigger scheduled shift start reminders and real-time alerts.
5. UK GDPR COMPLIANCE
ShiftSpan is fully compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Since your personal information is stored locally on your device, you have direct, absolute rights to:
- Access your data (directly viewable on the app's interface).
- Rectify or modify your data (directly editable on the shift entry forms).
- Delete your data (directly cleared by deleting shift logs or uninstalling the app).
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
ShiftSpan does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since all inputs are maintained locally, we possess no means of collecting children's personal information.
