Privacy Policy for Shift Calendar

This Privacy Policy explains how Shift Calendar ("the App") handles information.

Shift Calendar is designed as a simple, offline-first personal shift calendar. The App does not require an account and is designed so that your work schedule can remain on your device.

1. Information We Collect

Shift Calendar does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share your personal information.

The App does not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or media, financial information, health information, advertising identifiers, or account credentials.

The App does not use an account system or a developer-operated backend for normal app functionality.

2. Schedule Data

Information you enter into the App, including shift types, work schedules, repeating patterns, manually changed dates, days off, vacation or sick-day labels, optional notes, and reminder settings, is stored locally on your device.

This schedule data is not automatically uploaded to us or transmitted to a developer-controlled server.

3. Offline Use

The core features of Shift Calendar are designed to work without an internet connection. The App does not require cloud synchronization, online registration, or a remote account to create or use your schedule.

4. Notifications

If you choose to enable shift reminders, the App may request permission to send notifications. Reminder information is processed locally on your device and is used only to schedule the notifications you configure.

You can disable notifications at any time in the App or in your device settings.

5. Backup and Restore

Shift Calendar may allow you to export a local backup file containing your schedule data and restore it later. Backups are created only when you explicitly request them.

The App does not automatically upload your backup to our servers.

If you save or share a backup using another app, cloud storage provider, email provider, messenger, or file manager, that third party may process the file according to its own privacy policy. We do not control those third-party services.

6. Sharing Calendar Images

The App may allow you to generate an image of your shift calendar and share it using the system share menu. Sharing occurs only when you choose to do so.

7. Home Screen Widgets

If you use a home screen widget, the App may store a limited local snapshot of information required to display your current and upcoming shift. This information remains on your device and is not sent to our servers.

8. Analytics and Advertising

Shift Calendar does not include advertising, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs used to track your in-app behavior.

We do not sell user data and do not use your schedule information for advertising or profiling.

9. Permissions

Depending on your device and the features you use, Shift Calendar may request limited permissions:

The App is designed to avoid broad storage, location, contacts, camera, microphone, and similar permissions that are not necessary for its core purpose.

10. Third-Party Services and App Stores

The App may be distributed through platforms such as Google Play. Google Play, your operating system provider, device manufacturer, or other platform services may independently collect technical, store, installation, payment, security, or diagnostic information under their own privacy policies.

That information is controlled by those third parties and is separate from schedule data handled locally by Shift Calendar.

11. Crash and Diagnostic Information

Shift Calendar does not intentionally send your schedule content or notes to us for diagnostics.

If the operating system or app store provides aggregated crash or technical reports to developers, those reports may include technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, and crash details. They are not intended to include the contents of your work schedule.

12. Data Retention

Because your schedule data is stored locally, it generally remains on your device until you edit or delete it, reset the App, clear the App's storage, uninstall the App, or restore a different backup.

Backup files remain wherever you choose to save them until you delete them.

13. Data Security

Shift Calendar minimizes privacy risk by keeping core schedule information on your device and avoiding unnecessary transmission of that data. However, no device or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and backup files.

14. Children's Privacy

Shift Calendar is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not require an account and does not collect personal information on our servers, we do not maintain profiles of children.

15. International Users

Shift Calendar may be used in different countries and regions. Because core schedule data is stored locally and is not automatically transmitted to us, the App does not normally transfer your schedule data across international borders.

16. Your Choices

You control the information stored in Shift Calendar. You can edit or delete schedule entries, disable reminders, export or restore a backup, delete your schedule, clear local App data, or uninstall the App.

No request to us is normally required to delete locally stored schedule data.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's features, data practices, legal requirements, or platform requirements change. The updated version will be published at the public Privacy Policy URL with a new "Last updated" date.
