Our story

Shibulet by may's is located in Shibu Onsen, a historic hot spring town in Yamanouchi, Nagano.

The story of Shibulet began when the owner of Mei, our original shop in Miyota, Nagano, first visited Shibu Onsen.

We were drawn to the atmosphere of this old town,and deeply moved by the wonderful shops, restaurants, and ryokans that make Shibu Onsen what it is today. 

More than anything, we were touched by the pride and affection that the people here have for their town.

We wanted to became part of this place.

To use ingredients grown and made in Japan, especially here in Nagano, and to welcome those who have travelled to this special place.

We carefully choose each ingredient we use - from wheat and rye grown in Hokkaido and Nagano to Hokkaido butter, Kikai island cane sugar, and organic fruits and seeds.

With these ingredients, we bake our bresd and prepare our food each day.

Our hope is simple: to share a little of what we love about Japan, Nagano, and Shibu Onsen with everyone who visit us.
