PhD Dissertation: Investigating topologic and geometric properties of synthetic and natural river networks under changing climate
Generate Synthetic River/drainage networks through the development of OCN simulation model based on energy minimization principle (MATLAB have been exercised for the development of OCN simulation).
Natural River/drainage networks extracted from digital elevation model (DEM) using python, MATLAB, and ArcGIS software.
Critical nodes identified on the synthetic and natural river network topology using graph theoretical framework (MATLAB and Python language were used to implement network algorithm).
Physical meaning of spectral properties was investigated to understand the network controllability and heterogeneity under changing climate.
Physical understanding of topologic and geometric complexity of River/drainage network using the notion of energy and entropy.
A graph-theoretic framework is also proposed to understand the physical inference of environmental flux dynamics on static river/drainage network topology using the notion of advection diffusion process.
An abstract way of quantifying geometric roughness is also proposed to understand the inhomogeneity of the natural river network under changing climate.
