Anumita Mukhopadhyay did her BSc in physics from University of Calcutta and MSc from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math campus. She had an interest in Natural Sciences from her early school days and decided to become a researcher. She became interested in Quantum Computing while doing her MSc as she did her MSc project on this topic. She is now doing her PhD on quantum algorithms and/or quantum machine learning under Dr. Shibdas Roy. Besides that, she is interested in bengali literature, history, mythology, music etc. She likes to recite bengali poems and is a beginner in playing Guitar.
Arnab completed his BSc (Hons) in Physics from R. K. Mission Residential College, Narendrapur. Then, he was at NCRA-TIFR, Pune for a year. He completed his MSc in Physics from IIT Mandi, working on Evans-Searles Fluctuation Theorem for his MSc thesis. He is interested in Quantum Computing, and is now doing his PhD on Quantum Information and Computation with Dr. Shibdas Roy as his supervisor. Apart from that, he has interests in Astronomy & Philosophy.
Akankshya Dash, a PhD student at CQuERE with Dr. Shibdas Roy, holds a BSc in Physics from Utkal University and an MSc in Applied Physics from KIIT University. Her postgraduate studies sparked a deep interest in quantum computing, leading her to explore quantum algorithms for her Master’s thesis at IIIT Hyderabad. Her research focuses on the theoretical aspects of quantum information and computation, with a future goal of advancing the foundations of quantum algorithms and exploring the thermodynamics of quantum information processing.
Adrija Sarangi is currently a student of MSc (Physics) at Jadavpur University. She did her BSc from Bethune College, Calcutta University. She was greatly fascinated by Quantum Mechanics during her college days, which later evolved into a deep interest in Quantum Information Science. She is currently working as an intern with Dr. Shibdas Roy at CQuERE.
Rohan Chakraborty is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Physics at Presidency University. He previously completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics from the University of Calcutta. Since first encountering the concept of wave-particle duality, he has been deeply fascinated by the counterintuitive yet remarkably accurate principles of quantum mechanics. This interest has driven him to explore foundational ideas such as the Uncertainty Principle and the Superposition Theorem, continually fueling his curiosity and engagement with this domain. He is now working as an intern with Dr. Shibdas Roy.
Mriganka completed his Master's in Physics from Gauhati University, Assam. He interned at the Quaint Lab of Gauhati University, focusing on non-Hermitian quantum systems. For his Master's thesis, he conducted research on X-ray crystallography. Recently, he has developed an interest in Quantum Computing and is exploring this field, with a focus on quantum algorithms, and is currently working with Dr. Shibdas Roy remotely. Besides his academic pursuits, he loves cycling and playing tennis.
Rajat is currently an undergraduate student doing integrated M.Sc. in Physics at NISER Bhubaneswar, with a minor in Computer Science. He was also one of the recipients of the JBNSTS Junior Fellowship in 2020 and is currently a DAE-DISHA Fellow. He is currently working on a quantum machine learning project with Dr. Shibdas Roy remotely. As part of his summer project of 2024 in IISER Bhopal, he worked on finding Fisher Rao norm for any given ansatz and proposed their utility in different conditions. Besides academics, he likes hiking mountains and enjoying nature in solitude with classical orchestrations.
Abhiram K completed his BSc (Hons) in Physics from Hindu College, University of Delhi, and his MSc in Physics from the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi. He is interested in quantum computing, quantum information, and quantum algorithms, with a focus on quantum circuits and quantum simulation. He was a project intern at CQuERE, TCG CREST, Kolkata, working with Dr. Shibdas Roy, and now continuing to work with him remotely.
Praggnyamita Ghosh, a postgraduate student, is pursuing her MSc in Physics from the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Calcutta. During her MSc studies, she developed a strong interest in Quantum Computation, which has motivated her to explore the field further. She was working as an intern, and now remotely, with Dr. Shibdas Roy at CQuERE, TCG CREST. In addition to her academic interests, she also has a keen interest in Egyptology.
Kishan Kumar Sarangi is currently pursuing an M.S. in Quantum Technology under the Department of Physics at IISER Pune. He completed his B.Sc. with Honours in Physics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He has a strong interest in quantum technologies, with particular focus on quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, and quantum machine learning. He is eager to gain deeper knowledge in these areas and contribute actively to research in quantum science.
Srushti completed her BS-MS from IISER Tirupati with a major in Physics. Her research interests lie in the field of Quantum Algorithms and Quantum Machine Learning. She was working as an intern at CQuERE in the field of Quantum State Tomography.
Sanchita completed her BTech in Computer Science in 2018 from Kalinga Institute of Technology. Thereafter, she has worked as a software engineer for 3 years. Having recently developed an interest in Quantum Computation, she was exploring this field with a focus on quantum algorithms as an intern here at CQuERE.
Anant graduated from Fergusson College in Pune with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc - FC'23) in Physics. As part of his Bachelor's thesis, he was working with Qulabs on Blind Quantum Computing, developing a universal blind quantum computing (UBQC) simulator. Before this, he interned with various companies, working on topics such as Protein Folding, Material Deformation Problems (BMW Challenges 2020), and others. Aside from quantum information and technology, Anant has an interest in particle physics, radio astronomy, mythology, and just about everything else. He enjoys football, cricket, and volleyball in his leisure time. He also enjoys hiking and listening to music. At CQuERE, he worked as an intern on Quantum Algorithms and Quantum Information.

Aster was a Physics student doing their BS-MS degree at IISER Tirupati. They pursued their MS Thesis Research on the topic of Quantum Algorithms under the supervision of Dr. Shibdas Roy at CQuERE. Aster continued to work on Quantum Algorithms with Dr. Roy remotely. Apart from their interest in Natural Sciences, they occasionally enjoy studying political philosophy, media arts and literature.
Abhishek Chakraborty had completed his M.Sc. in Physics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He is passionate about quantum computing, particularly quantum machine learning. He wishes to take active part in solving various problems based on quantum technologies. He likes to explore new places and to connect with various people, understanding cultural diversity. Sourodeep is a dedicated and versatile student with a good background in quantum computing and machine learning, currently pursuing his Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering at KIIT, DU. He remotely worked on a quantum machine learning project with Dr. Shibdas Roy. His research experience spans prestigious institutions, including IISER Bhopal, IIT Guwahati, NIT Silchar, and IIEST Shibpur, where he worked on projects on quantum circuits, quantum machine learning, neuromorphic computing, demonstrating expertise in both theory and practical aspects. He has published research in reputed journals and conferences on optimization algorithms and quantum circuit architecture.
