What are the school start and end times, and bell schedule? Start 8:35am / End 4:00pm / Bell Schedule above.

Who do I call if my child will be out? Call the attendance clerk for your child's last name.

Does an absence count "against" my child if I notified the school? Yes, unless the absence is for a doctor visit and the student returns with a note from the doctor for the visit - noted with a "D" or has a required court appearance in which the student will also return with documentation -noted with a "J." An absence called in by a parent/guardian for the first three days of an illness will be noted with an "A" and without a note from a doctor, any additional days will be noted with a "U" for unexcused. A "U" is also used for arriving late due to vehicle difficulties and similar incidents.

What does an "X" mean on the attendance? An "X" is for truancy, that the student was not called in by the parent/guardian and was not in class or on campus in any other capacity: present ("P"), In School Suspension ("O"), or testing ("K").

Is there a dress code? ABSOLUTELY YES. Student Handbook (English) Student Handbook (Espanol) not yet posted via ECISD.

Are IDs mandatory? ABSOLUTELY YES. IDs are part of ECISD & PHS Policies and Procedures. Students must pay $5 for each replacement ID.

Where do students pay for the replacement IDs that have been charged? PHS Library.

Is Permian closed-campus for lunch? Permian is CLOSED campus for 9th & 10th graders.

Are students able to request a schedule change for a different lunch period? No. Scheduling is based on courses, class counts, and other criteria.

Am I able to pay online for my child's lunch in the cafeteria? Yes. Please go to Online Meal Payments.

Are lunch deliveries allowed from vendors or parents? No deliveries from third-parties; deliveries are allowed by parent/guardian who must wait at the Welcome Center for student during the student's lunch period. Deliveries may not be left at the Welcome Center. Students may not be called during class to pick up a delivery. Any student leaving during the school day must be signed out by the parent/guardian.

Are students able to request a schedule change for a different teacher? No. Please follow the protocol: student requests conference with teacher, then parent/student/teacher conference, and such.

What can I do if I have a class in the West portables and then I have to go to the Annex (new building)? Within the first week of your schedule, visit with your principal and request a one-minute pass.

What is the backpack rule? Secondary students may only have/use a clear or mesh backpack. Backpacks not in compliance will be confiscated.
