Any members of the College wishing to have material such as book chapters or journal extracts scanned into a digital format must request this via the digitization service at the Elibrary Centre.

We use the Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 to scan the documents. To request digitized copies of book or journal extracts, please email your request to Mr. Sonam Wangchen at sonamwangchen.sherubtse@rub.edu.bt.

What can be scanned?

The original text from which we can take the scan must be owned by the college or the university, or be a copyright free books such as those available in the public domain, or those materials that has been made available for free use by publishers during the time of the Covid pandemic.

How much can be scanned?

Due to copyright restrictions of certain materials, digitization of the content will be bound to the following limits:

  • Up to 10% or one whole chapter, whichever is greater, from a book.

  • Up to 10% or one whole article, whichever is greater, from a single issue of a journal.

  • Up to 10% or one whole article, whichever is greater, from a set of conference proceedings.

  • Up to 10% of an anthology of short stories or poems or one short story or one poem of not more than 10 pages, whichever is greater.

How long does this take?

The library will process your request as soon as possible, however, please be aware that when we have many requests, the wait may be slightly longer.

P.S: If you wish to digitize and/or deposit your scholarly publications to our Dspace Institutional Repository, please email your materials to the Head Librarian [lingchen.sherubtse@rub.edu.bt] or to Mr. Sonam Wangchen.
