1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sherlock - AI Face Search ("Sherlock", the "App", "we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Sherlock, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Sherlock.

Your use of Sherlock is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, processed, and protected.

Sherlock may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of the Service
Sherlock is a reverse image face search application designed to help users discover visually similar face images available on publicly accessible web sources.

The App allows you to:

• Upload an image from your Android device.

• Capture a new photo using your device's camera.

• Submit a publicly accessible image URL.

Sherlock securely submits your selected image to our trusted third-party image search service provider (FaceCheck.ID) solely to perform the face search you request.

Sherlock acts only as a search interface between you and the third-party search provider.

Sherlock does not:

• Maintain a database of individuals.

• Verify a person's identity.

• Confirm names or personal information.

• Conduct background checks.

• Create biometric profiles.

• Make decisions about any individual.

Search results may include image thumbnails, similarity scores, source links, and other information returned by the third-party search provider.

Because search results are generated automatically, they may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unrelated to the individual shown in the submitted image.

Sherlock does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of any search result.

3. Eligibility
Sherlock is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

By using Sherlock, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years old.

• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

• You will use Sherlock only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The App is not intended for children.

You must not upload, submit, or search images of individuals under the age of 18.

4. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your use of Sherlock and for all activities performed through the App.

By using Sherlock, you agree that you will:

• Use Sherlock only for lawful and legitimate purposes.

• Upload only images that you own or have permission to use.

• Respect the privacy and legal rights of others.

• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

• Review search results responsibly and independently.

• Understand that search results are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies.

• Use your own judgment before relying on any search result.

You acknowledge that Sherlock is a search tool only and that you remain solely responsible for any decisions or actions based on information obtained through the App.

5. Responsible & Acceptable Use
Sherlock is intended for lawful, responsible, and ethical use only.

By using Sherlock, you agree that you will not:

• Harass, intimidate, threaten, stalk, or unlawfully monitor any individual.

• Violate another person's privacy or legal rights.

• Upload images that you do not own or do not have permission to use.

• Upload or search for images of individuals under the age of 18.

• Use Sherlock to identify anonymous individuals or confirm a person's identity.

• Use search results as legal evidence or as proof of a person's identity.

• Use Sherlock to make decisions regarding employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, immigration, healthcare, law enforcement, tenant screening, or any other high-impact decision.

• Collect, publish, sell, or misuse personal information obtained through search results.

• Use Sherlock for discrimination, impersonation, fraud, unlawful surveillance, or any illegal activity.

• Reverse engineer, interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Sherlock or its underlying services.

• Circumvent subscriptions, credits, payment systems, security measures, or technical limitations.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Sherlock complies with all applicable laws and respects the rights of others.

Sherlock reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the App if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or if continued use could harm the App, its users, or third-party service providers.

6. Face Search & Search Results Disclaimer
Sherlock provides access to reverse image face search services through a trusted third-party image search service provider.

Sherlock acts only as a search interface and does not create, maintain, or operate a database of individuals.

Search results are generated using automated image similarity technology and information made available by our third-party search provider.

By using Sherlock, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Search results are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unrelated.

• A similarity score indicates only visual similarity and does not verify or confirm a person's identity.

• Sherlock does not verify names, identities, occupations, locations, or any personal information that may appear in search results.

• Sherlock is not a background check service, identity verification service, or consumer reporting agency.

• Search results must not be used as legal evidence or as the sole basis for making decisions about any individual.

• Sherlock must not be used for decisions relating to employment, housing, insurance, credit, education, immigration, healthcare, law enforcement, tenant screening, or any other high-impact purpose.

• Sherlock does not control, edit, endorse, or guarantee the content available on third-party websites returned in search results.

You are solely responsible for evaluating and using any information obtained through Sherlock.

7. User Images
You retain ownership of any image that you submit through Sherlock.

By uploading an image, taking a photo, or submitting an image URL, you confirm that:

• You own the image or have the necessary rights or permission to use it.

• Your use of the image does not violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

• The image is submitted voluntarily for the purpose of performing a face search.

By submitting an image, you grant Sherlock and its trusted third-party service providers a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process the image solely to:

• Perform the face search you request.

• Display search results within the App.

• Maintain and operate the App.

• Detect abuse, fraud, or security issues.

• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

This license ends once the processing necessary to provide the requested search has been completed, except where retention is required by applicable law or by the policies of third-party service providers.

Sherlock does not claim ownership of your submitted images.

8. Third-Party Services
Sherlock relies on trusted third-party service providers to deliver certain features of the App.

These providers operate independently and are responsible for their own services, policies, and data processing practices.

Sherlock currently uses:

FaceCheck.ID

FaceCheck.ID performs reverse image face searches using the images you voluntarily submit.

Sherlock securely transmits your selected image to FaceCheck.ID solely to perform your requested search.

Search results displayed in Sherlock are provided by FaceCheck.ID.

FaceCheck.ID operates under its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Google Play

Google Play provides:

• App distribution.

• Payment processing.

• Subscription management.

• Purchase verification.

• Refund processing where applicable.

All purchases are subject to Google Play's own policies and terms.

Google Firebase

Sherlock uses Google Firebase services to help improve App performance, stability, analytics, and crash reporting.

Firebase processes technical information in accordance with Google's applicable privacy policies.

Sherlock is not responsible for:

• Third-party search results.

• Third-party websites.

• Third-party content.

• Third-party availability.

• Third-party policies or data handling practices.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Credits, Purchases & Subscriptions
Certain features of Sherlock may require search credits, a subscription, or other paid access.

All purchases are processed securely through Google Play.

If you purchase a subscription:

• Your subscription may automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date through your Google Play account.

• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play subscription settings.

• Deleting Sherlock does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

Search credits:

• Are provided solely for use within Sherlock.

• Have no cash value.

• Cannot be transferred to another person or account.

• Are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or Google Play's refund policies.

Prices, subscription plans, available credits, promotional offers, and App features may change at any time.

10. Intellectual Property
Sherlock, including its software, source code, design, user interface, graphics, logos, trademarks, branding, and other related materials, is owned by Sherlock or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, Sherlock grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for your personal, lawful, and non-commercial use.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the App.

• Modify or create derivative works.

• Reverse engineer or decompile the App except where permitted by applicable law.

• Remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

• Use Sherlock's branding or intellectual property without prior written permission.

All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

11. App Availability
Sherlock is continuously developed and improved.

We may:

• Add, modify, or remove features.

• Update the App.

• Change subscription plans or pricing.

• Introduce or discontinue features.

• Temporarily suspend services for maintenance, security, or technical reasons.

Certain features may become unavailable due to maintenance, third-party service interruptions, technical limitations, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12. Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Sherlock at any time, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that:

• You have used Sherlock unlawfully or irresponsibly.

• Your activities may harm Sherlock, its users, or third-party service providers.

• Suspension or termination is necessary to comply with applicable law or protect the security and integrity of the App.

You may stop using Sherlock at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.

Termination of your access does not affect any rights, obligations, or liabilities that arose before termination.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Sherlock is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sherlock and its service providers disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including, but not limited to:

• Merchantability.

• Fitness for a particular purpose.

• Non-infringement.

• Accuracy.

• Reliability.

• Availability.

• Security.

Sherlock does not warrant that:

• The App will always be available or operate without interruption.

• Search results will be accurate, complete, reliable, or up to date.

• Similarity scores correctly identify any individual.

• Third-party services will remain available.

• The App will always be free from bugs, errors, viruses, or other harmful components.

Your use of Sherlock is entirely at your own risk.

14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sherlock, its owners, developers, affiliates, licensors, employees, contractors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:

• Your use of or inability to use Sherlock.

• Search results generated by the App.

• Third-party websites or services.

• Loss of data.

• Loss of business opportunities.

• Loss of profits.

• Loss of reputation or goodwill.

• Service interruptions.

• Technical failures.

• Unauthorized access to your information.

Sherlock is a search tool only.

You remain solely responsible for how you interpret and use any search result.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Indemnification

This obligation survives the termination of these Terms.

16. Severability

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Sherlock is operated, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

If any dispute arises in connection with these Terms or your use of Sherlock, the parties agree to first make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter through good-faith communication before pursuing any legal remedy, where permitted by applicable law.
