Our leadership reflects this mission in practice.
SheRecycles is led by founder Kesewa Opoku, whose work sits at the intersection of sustainability, systems design, and women's leadership.
With a background spanning research, policy engagement, and community-led initiatives, Kesewa founded SheRecycles to address one of the clean energy transition's most overlooked challenges: the lack of coordinated end-of-life systems for solar, batteries, and e-waste.
She believes that circular infrastructure works best when it's co-designed – bringing together communities, councils, recyclers, and industry to build solutions that are practical, trusted, and scalable. SheRecycles is the platform through which she is turning that vision into action – one partnership at a time.
At SheRecycles, we believe in collaboration, creativity, and purpose – grounded in real-world impact.
Our culture is about lifting one another, valuing diverse perspectives, and building trust across communities, partners, and systems. We work across research, policy, and practice to design solutions that are inclusive, practical, and built to last.
Together, we are driving change by putting people at the centre of circular infrastructure – working towards a cleaner, more inclusive future for clean tech end-of-life.
You don’t need a traditional sustainability background to get involved – just a shared commitment to learning, collaboration, and real-world impact.
We welcome council staff, students, professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders ready to help shape a cleaner, fairer future.
We are currently inviting founding collaborators, learners and early partners to help shape what comes next.
