Welcome to the Shepherdswell Art Group Web Site

At the session today we discussed themes and it was agreed that we would set a theme and that on a set date all those who wanted to participate would display their paintings in a club display. Participation is voluntary and artists can spend as much or as little time on their painting as they wish. It was agreed that the first theme would be 'Still Life' to be displayed on Wednesday 20th February 2019.

The Great Exhibiton at Shepherdswell

Well this is later than I meant and for that, I apologise. First, a great big thank you to everyone who helped make the exhibition last Saturday, (29th September) such a success. The exhibition looked brilliant and did the Group and the Village proud. Three visitors expressed interest in joining the Shepherdswell Art Group, which is an added bonus. I would like to thank Chris for her contribution in organising and running the exhibition, Dick for his work in planning and erecting the displays and Julie for her sterling work organising the refreshments and Alan, Janet, John, Maureen and Sue who all contributed on the day. It was a great example of teamwork.

We had 82 paintings and numerous unframed prints. It was nice to see other paintings from villagers who were not members of the either our or Wendy’s Art Group contributing. Although numbers of visitors was down those that came were very complimentary and the refreshments were popular. It is a nice feature of the show that people come and look and then stay and chat, some even came back for a second time, which makes it a real village community affair. Congratulations to Maureen, Julie, Chris, Alan, Janet and Bob who all sold picture or prints. We raised £23.22 for the Air Ambulance, which I shall send them. Great teamwork and a great day.

If you are really fed up with life you can listen to Mike talk about the Group on Deal Community Radio by pasting this link into your favourite broweser the interview starts about eight minutes in. https://www.mixcloud.com/DealRadioShows/the-saturday-drop-in-at-deal-radio-220918/
