PURPOSE
As per the PTA Council section of the New York State PTA Resource Guide, "The purpose of the council is to bring together all the partners in education. The council is at the center of the communications network consisting of the National PTA, New York State PTA, the Region PTA, local PTA units, school board, school district superintendent, administration, parents, teachers, business and non- parent community and children. ... The council’s main purpose is to promote the welfare of children and youth. Its role is to inform, advise, guide, instruct and encourage the leaders of local units and to be responsive to their needs for conferences, leadership training and coordination of efforts of the member PTAs."
MISSION STATEMENT
To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
The Shenendehowa PTA Council is the umbrella organization that supports and unites the PTA 12 units within the Shenendehowa Central School District. As a vital link to the New York State PTA (NYS PTA) and the Northeastern Region PTA, the Council serves as a central voice for advocacy, communication, and collaboration.
Our Council is committed to fostering strong partnerships between home, school, and community. Through regular leadership meetings, open communication, and annual dues that sustain Council programs and initiatives, we work closely with each local PTA unit to ensure alignment and shared goals.
We believe that every child deserves excellence in education and a high quality of life. The Shenendehowa PTA Council supports this belief by offering leadership development, guidance, programs, events, and timely information—all with the goal of strengthening family engagement and enhancing student success across our district and community.
