With demand quickly surpassing supply, affordable housing has become very scarce in California. This has led many people to end up on the streets.
ShelterWeb aims to make a positive impact on the housing crisis in California. According to The Guardian, "California accounted for 49% of all unsheltered people in the country (123,000 people). This is nearly eight times the number of unsheltered people in the state with the next highest number, Florida (15,000 people)." Many of these homeless people are ready to leave the streets and start a new life. Each individual is in a different situation and has their own unique story, but they all deserve a chance. ShelterWeb hopes to provide a stepping stone for people who are ready to get back on their feet. A temporary shelter allows people to focus on securing a job and eventually saving for permanent housing, a place where they will finally belong.

Our Goal
At ShelterWeb, our goal is to provide local and state governments, along with the federal government and charitable organizations, with detailed and valuable information on unused buildings or properties falling into disrepair that are qualified to be transformed into homeless shelters for the more than 150 million homeless worldwide. We hope said governments and organizations will aid us in our goal of ending the homelessness crisis in states across America.
