The main aim of SheikhLab© is to develop novel biomaterial options for periodontal and orthopedic bone repair and regenerative applications.
Other aims include:
-Performing interdisciplinary research.
-Supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students including DDS Students, Graduate Periodontics Residents, MSc, PhD and Post-Doctoral Fellows.
-Developing industrial relations and performing translational research.
-Linking the clinicians from Dental Clinical Sciences (DCS) with the researchers from the Applied Oral Sciences (AOS) and the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) to develop cross-collaborative research projects to solve clinical problems via biomaterials research & development to provide evidence based solutions.
