I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Food and Resource Economics at the University of Florida, USA. Prior to my doctoral studies, I served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (currently on leave). My academic training and research are grounded in the fields of International Trade, Health Economics, and Applied Econometrics, and I am committed to advancing my expertise using the latest tools and methodologies in applied economic research.
My current research agenda focuses on several critical areas: the welfare implications of tariffs in global trade, the end of Tomato Suspension Agreement with Mexico, the link between sugar trade and rising obesity rates, gender disparities in access to technical education, and the impact of tariff caps on U.S. agriculture. Through this work, I aim to deepen our understanding of the complex interplay between trade policy, public health, agriculture and development, and to contribute meaningful insights to the broader field of applied economics.
