It is prohibited for work being done within the scope of the Sheffield Lab to be conducted with the use of Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot). The purpose of this policy is to support the development and use of critical thinking, scientific writing, judgement, and independent thinking skills. It also protects members of the lab from inadvertent plagiarism, falsified data, fake references, submission of protected health (PHI) and copyrighted information into AI models, and other ethical and administrative issues.
