[THE [little] BAYUN SHOW]

DEADLINE:

23.59 / 11.59 PM on 31st of January 2024

[+ 24h grace period]

The picturesque lagoon was damaged by a sudden tsunami, which could not be detected in time. Fortunately, by some incredible miracle there were no casualties in this incident. Even caretaker Dylan Morris's cat, Peanut, was rescued from the lodge's roof drifting in the ocean. Many consider this a miracle.

But, let's be honest, at least part of this miracle was ensured by the fact that the Treasures of Everglade Safari Park & Hotel hadn't yet been open to the public by the time the tsunami hit. Apart from a few personnel, there were no other people on the property at the time of the incident – which made the escape to the safety way easier for everyone unlucky enough to be at the site.

However, the territory of the facility was in dire need of being cleared and restored. Unfortunately, heavy equipment could not reach the secluded lagoon in time.

Therefore, the director and owner of the hotel, Alan Swiftbird, decided to act outside the box.

He called upon an incredible living force to help. He turned to Bayun Breeders Society [BBS].

The task of the bayuns and their handlers was to help with the search and capture of exotic animals that lived within the territory of the park, to help clear the area and restore fences, and to try and help clear the way for heavy equipment stuck on narrow roads which were destroyed and cluttered with debris.
Many volunteers aside from members of BBS decided to help, for despite the commercial nature of the Treasures of Everglade project, this park was supposed to play an important role in the conservation of rare species of animals.

When the main work was completed, the Bayun Breeders Society, together with the owner of the park, decided to organize a bayun charity show. The event was supposed to take place in one of the least damaged – and since restored – areas. The stands and all the necessary elements were temporary, sometimes made from what was at hand.

So this big animal show had a very homey, cozy feel to it, not big and grand. The owner of Treasures of Everglade also gifted all the handlers who participated in the restoration of the park family vouchers worth a month's VIP stay at the Treasures of Everglade, which can be used once the park is fully restored and will finally open its doors to the public for the first time.

The event takes place at the territory of the hotel complex that suffered less damage than any other area.
A huge temporary arena is set up at the cleared space that was a part of a big fancy park zone before the tsunami hit.
There are no specially built stands, only rows of chairs (some rows are open to elements, others are set under big, fancy tents of different colors with white patches and lots of places to watch the show standing/sitting in various non-uniform chairs).

DRIVING

Cats: Bayun crosses,  4 + years. Amount of cats hitched: 1 to 8! (but no more than two cats being side by side)Drivers: 2 or 3 person. Driver, "navigator" and a helper in the back.

Cat's tack: appropriate for driving class.Any colours, any designs. Up to you.
Cart: any type of 4-wheeled type if you use more than 1 cat. For a single hitch you can use two-wheeled carts.

Location, Time and Weather: Driving takes place in the midst of a sunny day at a park area.
A few white poofy clouds are visible. Windy. Seagulls flying all over the place.
You can classify this type of driving as a hybrid of driving dressage and cross-country driving. As you have to navigate through park via park roads and do a few driving figures around orange, white and blue cones at a big square with a peacock inclosure in the center of it.
Park has lots of bushes, flowers, trees and statues. Some of those are damaged, sadly.
You can  see ocean down below at almost all times. You will pass by a few enclosures with different animals.
The road surfaces differ  from sand to gravel and to paving stone. At some point the route will lead you through decorative bridges and right to the shore where your bayuns and the cart will get their paws and wheels wet.

Spectators can come right to the rope fences to watch the run.
The start is marked with a rope and the race will start with a shot of an orange flare from a signal gun. No starting machine.
The race will go all the way through the sandy white beach with beasts taking quite a dip into the ocean salty water a few times.
Evening, beautiful  dying sunset, picturesque clouds paint  the sky. Young stars start to riddle the sky.
Ocean is calm.

KORUNGS

Cats: Bayun crosses,  4 + monthsHandlers: 18+ years
Attire: shirt, breeches, tall boots. Anything else - up to you.
Tack: halter or neck rope + leading rope. Mild decorations are allowed/encouraged.
Location, Time and Weather:Korung classes are taking place at the arena in the middle of the park. At the square with peacock ebclosure and big old tree.

The fence is just a couple of low wooden poles and giant pots with flowers.
Korung take place during the day. The weather is hot and sunny.

ACTIVITIES

Activities are non-competitive prompts that each bayun owner can enter. The more prompts a bayun completes the bigger AP bonuses they get.*
*Total prompts allowed per bayun: 3

A bayun can take part in each prompt just once.

Activities still get the standard show entry bonus.

ENTRY [ART/LIT] REQUIREMENTS:

ART: Half or Full body, Handler visible (50% at least), BG with necessery storytelling elements,  Sketchy, Coloured or Toned.

LITERATURE: 600 words (english or russian language)

HEAVY DUTY CLEANING

This action takes place way before the show. Volunteer bayun owners arrive to the damaged property of Treasures of Everglades. Often on the back of their mounts or on their own two feet as they can not get the trailers to come close enough to the territory. Pulling heavy debris, dragging away logs and rubble - that will be the reality for handlers and their beasts for the next few days.
At the sight you can meet heavy draft horses, other shedus and just  volunteers who try to do what they can along with the staff members of Treasures of Everglades.

MOUNTED FISHING AND WATER FUN

There is time for work and time for rest. Even though not so much for the latter.
You just can not miss the advantage of warm ocean by your hand.
Depict your handlers fishing in Belgian style from bayun's back with baskets and nets or in a classic way with a fishing rod and some bait. Or your team taking a swim in the ocean when they are not busy with their hard work. Or maybe they prefer to just flop on the just cleaned beach?

ROUNDING UP ESCAPED ANIMALS

The Safari park is called like that for a reason. While no animals got hurt lots of enclosures sustained significant damage, letting animals loose or getting them stuck in flooded damaged enclosures without a way to get out from the dangerous conditions.
Help catch the escaped animals or rescue ones that were stuck.
* You can depict any wild animal that exists in real life, but not other shedus as the animals in need of help. You can try herd them in, lasso them, net them or dart them with tranquilizer. Thats up to you.
You can come up with any situation you'd like.
The RNG roll for a companion will not depend on which animal you will depict.
