SheBops & Dawn’s Recreational Place, Inc. began with something very simple: a mother and daughter paying attention.

For years, my daughter, Dawnesha Robinson, and I watched children within our own family and throughout our community who were full of personality, creativity, intelligence, and potential—but many of them simply needed more opportunities to discover those gifts. They needed positive places to go, meaningful things to do, encouragement, structure, and adults willing to invest time in helping them grow.

We didn't want to simply talk about what was missing. We wanted to become part of the solution.

As a mother, entrepreneur, creative, and founder of SheBops Entertainment LLC, I have always had a passion for bringing people together. Through the years, I learned that some of the greatest lessons we can give a child don't always come from a classroom. They come through conversation, creativity, responsibility, exposure, encouragement, and simply having someone believe in them.

Dawnesha brought her own gifts to that vision. As a mother herself, she understood the importance of creating an environment where children could have fun while also learning, developing confidence, expressing themselves, and being surrounded by positive influences.

Together, we began imagining a place that combined both of our hearts and strengths—a place where children could learn, create, play, discover their gifts, and develop skills they could carry into adulthood.

And from that shared vision, SheBops & Dawn’s Recreational Place, Inc. was born.

Our goal is not simply to keep children occupied. We want to cultivate their hearts and minds. Through life-skills education, recreation, arts and crafts, creative expression, mentorship, community activities, and lessons in respect, hygiene, etiquette, self-love, responsibility, and moral values, we want young people to understand that who they are matters—and that what they become matters too.

We believe children thrive when they are seen, encouraged, challenged, celebrated, and given room to discover who they were created to be.

What began as a mother and daughter recognizing a need has grown into a mission:

To create a nurturing environment where children and adolescents can learn, grow, discover their gifts, build character, and thrive.
