I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I previously attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa. There I worked for the Kokua Disabilities Service office and the ACE First-year Mentor program. This is where I began developing an interest in mentorship and disability.
My academic background started in Ethnic Studies, where I studied inequalities in the U.S. and the Pacific. After receiving my BA in Ethnic Studies, I moved on to a Ph.D. in Geography, focusing on Healthcare Inequalities. However, after working as an academic mentor in SASP and taking courses in Post-secondary Disabilities Services, I began to gain interest in academic mentorship and disabilities. I've decided to end my Geography program early with an MA and am now continuing my education with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Special Education. Within this program, my work a focuses on athletics, mentorship, and load management for student-athletes.
I am currently located in Hartford, CT, and often in Honolulu, HI.
I am open to research and work opportunities in Athletics, Educational Research, and more!
