Sharpening

The following is a quick breakdown of the steps for using the sharpening kit. Click the video on the left for more lengthy instructions.

1. Mark the secondary bevel with the sharpie marker.

2. Use the diamond side of the stone and establish the angle checking that the sharpie mark is being removed evenly until a burr is formed.

3. Use the ceramic side of the stone using the same method as step 2.

4. Apply the jeweler’s rouge to the strop. Use slow motions dragging the blade to remove the last of any remaining burr.

5. Apply the oil to the blade using the cloth to both clean any metal dust as well as protect to blade.
