About Us

Team S.H.A.R.P was formed in 2009 and consists of two middle school students and four high school students: Brock, Jackson, Drew, Jamie, Gavin and Sadie. Our team has two Coaches: Brian and Kirk. We participate in FIRST Tech Challenge, also known as FTC, as team 8411 SHARP. We are based out of the Middle Tennessee area and are sponsored by the Hands On Science Center in Tullahoma. For more on the team, please visit the About Us page. We meet at our robotics shed in Spring Hill, TN on Tuesdays and Fridays. We have enough room to setup and build our field and a good selection of tools.

Brock works on the design and is head of the builder for the robot. Drew helps build, is the main electrician, and works on the website. Jamie helps assemble the robot and alternates with Gavin as “The Logger.” Gavin works on the engineering notebook. Jackson is our head programmer and Sadie helps out with the building. We also enjoy eating, especially pretzels and veggie straws!

Over the past four years our team has grown and improved considerably. Over time some members have graduated and left our team, but sometimes alumni of our team come back and give us tips. Our team is considerably a “young” team but we all work hard and have fun!
