I am a passionate advocate for reading, literacy, and writing, and one of my favorite things in the world is connecting children with books they love.

4th-Grade English Language Arts

I love teaching fourth-grade ELA! In my classes, we develop reading, writing, listening, spelling, grammar, handwriting, and critical thinking skills. We have a number of wonderful resources, including McGraw Hill's 4th-grade Wonders reading textbook, Spelling Connections, Zaner-Bloser Handwriting, and Empowering Writers. We also read and study two full-length class novels, which my students absolutely love! The novels are The Miraculous Adventures of Edward Tulane, by Kate DiCamillo, and Matilda, by Roald Dahl.
