Think about how to recreate all of the supports in your classroom for remote learning.

  • Hyperlink definitions for new vocabulary

  • Create digital “anchor charts”

  • Provide audio recordings of digital text

  • Use sticky notes with comments on paper

  • Embed references within text

  • Highlight what you want students to notice

Supporting comprehension is even more important when you are not physically there to answer questions or clear up misconceptions.

  • Pre-teach important concepts using mini-lesson video recordings

  • Provide links to prior learning with the new lesson

  • Provide graphic organizers that emphasize important content

  • Chunk large sections of information into mini-lessons

  • Keep printed materials uncluttered
