Personal Project: Game Jam game
Genre: Puzzle / RPG
Platform: PC
Game Engine: Godot
My Role: Game Designer and Lead Developer
Ghost Town is a puzzle-driven RPG developed in 24 hours as part of my universities game jam. this project emphasized system design, modular implementation, and iterative refinement.
Players explore an abandoned town, recover hidden gems by solving simple puzzles, and fight (or avoid) adversarial ghost creatures with a flashlight weapon.
To enable effective collaboration, responsibilities were separated across systems with explicit ownership. this allowed team members to work independently while minimizing merge conflicts and integration overhead.
I served as the primary gameplay and systems engineer, responsible for designing and implementing core gameplay systems, including player/environment interaction, puzzle state management, and enemy behavior as well as architecting the flashlight interaction system; integrating collision detection, visibility checks, and feedback mechanisms.
I also pitched, designed and implemented two out of the three puzzles the game revolves around
