Collaborate with Schools
Partner with local schools to promote your program to students who may have an interest in music. Work with school music teachers to identify and recruit talented students.
Offer Incentives:
Provide incentives such as scholarships, leadership opportunities, or special recognition for outstanding contributions. Emphasize the personal and professional growth opportunities within the program.
Maintain a Positive Reputation:
Cultivate a positive and inclusive culture within your band or music program. A positive reputation will attract more members and support from the community.
When students come from feeder schools and apply to instrumental classes such as band and orchestra, having the students "audition" for a seat placement and sending a letter home congratulating them on their audition results creates a sense of accomplishment. They tend to stick with the music programs due to their hard work and determination.
