Driving

To get to Vanderbilt from the airport or out of town see the driving directions.

Airport Transportation

The closest airport from the Vanderbilt campus is Nashville International Airport (BNA). 

There are several options to get from the airport to a hotel in Nashville:

In Shuttle

Reservations are required (there is no airport desk). The services are roughly 4 a.m. to midnight (but they will wait longer than that if your flight is delayed coming in).

Taxi
A rideshare (e.g., Uber or Lyft) from the airport costs $30-$40.  Taxis are also available.

City buses of the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA)

City bus (MTA) Route 18 (Elm Hill Pike/Airport) goes from the airport to Music City Central downtown and runs roughly once per hour. Routes 3, 5, and 7 service the Vanderbilt area. Schedules are available at the Airport Welcome Center on the baggage claim level and on the MTA website.

Participants are responsible for arranging their hotel accommodations. Some hotel suggestions are provided below.

NOTE: We encourage you to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. Due to tourist travel in Nashville, hotel rooms near Vanderbilt may be difficult to find.

The Scarritt Bennett Center is a non-profit center, formerly a college campus, with dorm-style housing. Most rooms are double occupancy with a shared bath. The limited number of private rooms share a bath with an adjoining room. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
RESERVE EARLY. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted anywhere on the Scarritt Bennett campus.

• The Vanderbilt Medical Center shuttle service (purple route) runs from the Crystal Terrace building (located next door and to the west of Extended Stay America) to Medical Center North (round wing) near Stevenson Center and the Department of Mathematics. Here is the shuttle map and schedule.
