Shamim Forhad is a dedicated researcher, lecturer, and technologist with a strong academic background and a deep passion for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2021. Since then, he has pursued a multifaceted career combining research, teaching, and practical engineering.
Shamim has authored and co-authored over 20 research papers and several others under review — in prestigious international conferences and journals such as IEEE ISCON, ICAEEE, ECCE, and Springer Lecture Notes. He has 80+ citations in Google Scholar. His research interests span deep learning, image processing, robotics, renewable energy, and intelligent systems, often aiming to solve real-world problems with innovative AI-powered solutions. Notable contributions include projects on cancer detection using vision transformers, autonomous agricultural robots, waste segregation using deep learning, and IoT-based smart energy systems.
Currently, he serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Uttara University, Dhaka. He is also a Senior Research Assistant at Elitelab.ai (New York, USA), where he contributes remotely to cutting-edge projects in artificial intelligence and data science. Previously, he worked as a Credentialing Data Analyst at Radiant Data Systems and as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Scholars. He is also surveing as a Peer Reviewer at a Q2 Scopus indexed journal "Engineering Technology and Applied Science Research (ETASR) and another journal name "Journal of Engineering Research and Science (JENRS)".
Throughout his academic journey, Shamim has received over $5,000 in research funding, in addition to awards such as the Dean’s Award for Best Capstone Project and Research Supervision Awards. He has also completed intensive training programs in data science, machine learning, and analytics through platforms like OSTAD.app, Coursera, and LinkedIn Learning.
With a GRE score of 330 and an IELTS score of 7.0, Shamim aims to pursue graduate research (MASc/PhD) in AI/ML at a globally recognized institution, continuing his mission to publish in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, and AAAI. His long-term vision includes establishing a research lab to develop future-ready AI solutions that benefit both academia and society.
Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Shamim is an active contributor to several professional and volunteer organizations, including IEEE, JCI Bangladesh, and multiple youth-driven community platforms.
