What is the Shallotte Middle PTO?
PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization. This SMS PTO is a nonprofit group of parents/grandparents, teachers/staff, and community members dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Shallotte Middle School. Our objective is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services to support this experience.
What are the benefits of membership?
First, it gives you a voice! Your membership entitles you to vote at all meetings and share ideas on PTO business. It also allows you to be more connected to SMS through volunteer opportunities. Volunteering is encouraged but not required. Studies have shown that active parent participation helps improve classroom behavior and academic issues. If your interested in helping SMS be the best it can be, join the PTO!

We use the facebook, email and the app GroupMe to keep you updated on PTO meetings, volunteer opportunities, events and much more.
