About

Shakshi Sharma is an Assistant Professor and the lead of the Digitally Responsible AI Computing Group (DIG-AI) at School of Artificial Intelligence, Bennett University, India, since March 2024. 

Prior to joining Bennett University, Dr. Sharma worked as a Junior Researcher in the Computational Social Science group at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Tartu, Estonia, from 1 July 2020 to 31 Jan 2024. Under the same university, Dr. Sharma successfully defended her PhD in October 2023. From July 2018 to May 2020, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The NorthCap University, Gurugram, Haryana, India. After earning her Master's degree from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Delhi, India, in 2017, she also worked as a Programmer at one of the Multinational Companies (MNC): Fidelity International Company, Gurugram, Haryana, India.

Research Interests

At a broad level, Dr. Sharma’s research lies at the intersection of computer science and social science ie. AI for Social Good. She focuses on societal challenges on social media such as misinformation, rumors, and digital health in multilingual, code-mixed languages through Ethical AI perspective. She investigates the role of social dynamics in creating effective computational tools.
