Current Research

• Currently working on a project with the collaboration of CERI and CAESER (UofM) which aims to map breaches and paleochannels in the upper Claiborne confining unit within the urbanized portion of Shelby County south of the Loosahatchie River using integrated geophysical methods.

• In March 2024, engaged in Geophysical surveys with USGS as part of my dissertation project. Delving into various geophysical methods to map subsurface paleochannel breaches in the urban environment of Shelby County. Thrilled about the insights gained over the past two weeks, working closely with the collaboration of CAESER, CERI and USGS on TEM, MASW, ReMi, Seismic Nodals, and Tromino. 

Previous Research Experiences

• Employed as field & research assistant on the project “Groundwater Assessment at Kohinoor Textile Complex Area Nayarhat, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.” (Jan 2021 – June 2021)

• Worked as a geophysical surveyor on the project “Geological and Geophysical Studies and Geotechnical, Tectonic and Seismological Studies for the proposed site of ‘Bangladesh High Power Research Reactor Project’ of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.” (Sep 2020 – Dec 2020)

• Research assistant of the project named “Enhancing Private Sector Capacity for scaling up Safe Water Access; a Joint Collaboration Program of KTH-DU-DPHE-UNICEF.” (Oct 2019 – Feb 2020)

•  Worked as a research assistant in the project Seismic Hazard Assessment in 5 upazillas of Patuakhali under the Atomic Energy Commission and Disaster Science & Management department of Dhaka University, Bangladesh in November 2019.

•  Research assistant in the project “Preparation of Master Plan of Dhaka University of Dhaka” in 2019.

•  Groundwater Vulnerability Assessment of Mirsarai Economic Zone under VEZA, 2018.

•  Working experience in the project ‘Vulnerability assessment of 7 Upazila in Barguna & Potuakhali district for Pyra Port’, 2018.

•  Aquifer characterization of Golachipa Upazila in Potuakhali, 2017.

•  Participated in fieldwork in TREMBLE (Temporary Receivers for Monitoring Bangladesh Earthquakes) under the Earth Observatory of Singapore and Bangladesh.

•  Basement characterization and sustainability assessment of inland aquifer of Saint Martin’s Island using Geophysical, Hydrogeological and Sedimentological methods (Senior year thesis 2017).

•  Geological fieldwork (academic) on Jaintiapur and Tamabil Road section, Sylhet, Bangladesh 2016, Kaptai, Rangamati 2015, Sitakunda Hill Range, Chittagong, Bangladesh, 2014.
