Shahid Mohammad Ganie is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Information Management and Technology, King Faisal University, 31982, Al-Ahsa, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining King Faisal University, he served as Assistant Professor/Research Scientist, Department of Analytics, AI Research Centre, Woxsen University, 502345, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

He has more than 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He obtained his Ph.D in Computer Science (Healthcare Informatics) and a master's degree in Computer Applications (MCA), where he was a Gold Medalist, from the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, BGSB University, Jammu and Kashmir-UT, India. He also holds a B.Sc in Mathematics from the University of Kashmir.

His technical research interests are Data Analytics, Explainable AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Transfer Learning. Whereas his application research interests are Healthcare Informatics, Medical Image Analysis, and Smart Healthcare Systems. He has published more than 40 research articles in refereed journals, edited books, and reputed international conferences. He also holds 2 patents in the healthcare domain and has served as the editor of 3 books published by Elsevier and Taylor and Francis. He received 2 Best Researcher Awards from the School of Business, Woxsen University, for the academic years 2023 and 2024.

Also, he has received 3 research grants – DST SERB-SURE (Govt. of India), Woxsen Future Lab (Woxsen University), and R&D Seed Grant, Woxsen University. He is actively involved as PI/Co-PI for conducting research-based projects.

In addition, he was a member of the AI Research Centre at Woxsen University and served on its Technology Advisory Board. He also held the role of Program Director, Department of Analytics, School of Business, Woxsen University. Furthermore, he was a chair holder of Chair Professor Dr. Manjeet Rege, Professor of Data Science and AI, and served as the Co-Chairperson of the Centre of Excellence—SCIN-DATA.
